A standout highlight is the exclusive opportunity to ride the full length of the renowned Thredbo Valley Track from Thredbo to Jindabyne on closed trails. Stage 3 – the Snowies Legends Descent – is the only time each year you can experience, uninterrupted, the pure exhilaration of 42km of mountain bike heaven from top to bottom.

Saturday marks the triumphant return of Tathra Wharf 2 Waves, a swim event that’s become legendary in the Ocean Swimming community nationwide.

Participants will brave the crystal-clear waters from the golden sands of Tathra Beach to the iconic Tathra Wharf and back, reuniting locals and visitors in the spirit of this cherished tradition.

The revival of Wharf 2 Waves is a testament to the dedicated efforts of the Tathra community, led by the passionate members of the Tathra Surf Lifesaving Club, who have come together to support and enhance this beloved event, making it even better than ever.

Based at the Surf Life Saving Club on Tathra’s stunning beachfront, athletes and friends and families can take in breathtaking coastal views, relax on the beach, and soak up the sapphire-blue waters—all while enjoying delicious food and drinks at the club before presentations.

SUNDAY 16 MARCH | TRAIL RUN AUSTRALIA

The grand finale, Trail Run Australia, invites runners to tackle the breathtaking coastal trails stretching between Merimbula and Tathra, offering a spectacular experience through some of the region’s most picturesque landscapes.

The revival of Wharf 2 Waves is a testament to the dedicated efforts of the Tathra community, led by the passionate members of the Tathra Surf Lifesaving Club, who have come together to support and enhance this beloved event, making it even better than ever.

Based at the Surf Life Saving Club on Tathra’s stunning beachfront, athletes and friends and families can take in breathtaking coastal views, relax on the beach, and soak up the sapphire-blue waters—all while enjoying delicious food and drinks at the club before presentations.

SUNDAY 16 MARCH | TRAIL RUN AUSTRALIA

The grand finale, Trail Run Australia, invites runners to tackle the breathtaking coastal trails stretching between Merimbula and Tathra, offering a spectacular experience through some of the region’s most picturesque landscapes.

With distances to suit every level, from beginners to ultra-runners, this event promises an immersive experience through natural bushland, ocean views, and pristine beaches.

The Trail Run Australia course wraps up with an unforgettable finale as runners pass Tathra’s historic wharf and ascend the stunning headland.

With the conditions in South East Queensland over the past few months the Sunshine Coast course had been experiencing some damp conditions. However, with the recent stretch of sunny days and breezy weather, there has been a noticeable improvement and, it was good to see the trails draining and starting to dry out towards the end of this week.

At present, the mountain bike course has been redirected to avoid the shorter clay sections. We'll be closely monitoring this change over the next week while we focus on maintaining the trails, especially as these sections were starting to firm up on Thursday.

The trails on the run course had some treefall, and we’ve been clearing these over the past week and preparing the trails for some epic running at the National Duathlon Champs.  This work is continuing over the coming days to ensure the course is primed ready for next weekend.

RACE HQ

In further good news we’re so excited to see the camp coming back to life and being restored to its former glory thanks to the dedicated efforts of the SMEAC team who are meticulously restoring the buildings and facilities.  We’re so excited to see this happening so stay tuned for some exciting updates about the festival in October as this restoration unfolds!!

We so look forward to having our In2Adventure family together again next weekend and can’t wait to welcome you all for a weekend of off road action on the Sunny Coast.

So, what do I need to do now to be a part of the action? Check out our One Day Entry Survival Guide….

1 - Make the decision…. YES! I am seriously doing this.  After all, I’ve always been a hardcore athlete at heart even if my body hasn’t discovered this yet.

2 - Contact your mates, your family or anyone who should be on the start line with you…. Tell them to book the date for entry opening day. After all, why should it be just you who has all the fun?.... pain?....

3 - Choose an Event...

TreX?.. Yes I am a very adaptable athlete… I like a dip in the water… biking in the bush, that sounds fun… and trail running… well my legs might disagree but really I AM Haile Gebrselassie!

Trail Run Australia?… I just say “shut up legs” and get on with it!  I was born to run through the bush, up sand dunes, along spectacular coastlines, and as long as there’s a cold bevvy at the end, I’ll get there!

4 - Choose a course...

TreX Sprint or Trail Run Australia 12k or 6k?... slightly less training, fun riding/running, more post-race celebration time?

TreX Standard or Trail Run Australia Half Marathon… more training required… BUT the destination is epic… and the bevvy’s always taste that much better after a big day on the trails… AND… with five months of training … oooh… it might just be possible ?

5 - Now, how will I keep my training on track? Join the Polar Competition? YES!

6 - Now, time to revisit my calendar for the next 5 months…. Maybe a bit more swimming, riding, running ?

PORT STEPHENS MULTISPORT FESTIVAL

The Port Stephens  MultiSport Festival which includes a full weekend of Off Road Action with TreX Cross Triathlon on Saturday which is also the Triathlon NSW State Champs and Trail Run Australia Tomaree on Sunday, offering athletes of all levels the opportunity to discover this unique coastal paradise.

PORT STEPHENS DIRT MASTER CHALLENGE

Participants have the option to take on the Port Stephens Dirt Master Challenge.  To be crowned Dirt Master or Dirt Mistress athletes will compete in TreX Cross Triathlon on Saturday and Trail Run Australia on Sunday with the aim to record the fastest cumulative time across the festival. There is also a Mini Dirt Master and Junior Dirt Dude challenge for our younger athletes.

SUNSHINE COAST, QLD – In breaking news, Triathlon Australia have announced Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Hinterland is set to host the Australian Cross Duathlon Championships in April 2024.

The Championships will take place on Saturday 20th April in Landsborough in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.  Courses include Standard, Sprint, Junior, Teaser and Dirt Kids, so there’s something on offer for those chasing a national championship title in the Standard Course as well as those of all ages and abilities who are looking for some off-road action in this picturesque destination.

And as an added bonus, the event will also host the Sunshine Coast MTB Festival on Sunday making this a not to be missed action packed weekend for the entire family.

Based on the banks of spectacular Ewen Maddock dam the course showcases the very best of the Sunshine Coast hinterland with its stunning waterways, rainforest trails and fern-filled bushland.  The course includes some of the best fast and flowing single track mountain bike trails, and gritty off-road running trails found anywhere in Australia.

QLD DIRT MASTER CHALLENGE

Race for two days and tackle the Qld Dirt Master Challenge.  To be crowned Dirt Master or Dirt Mistress Qld athletes will take on TreX Cross Duathlon and Saturday and the Sunshine Coast MTB Festival on Sunday with the aim to record the fastest cumulative time across the two events. In2Adventure athletes are in for a massive training boost with free training programs on offer from off road greats Ben and Jacqui Allen.

In breaking news, any athlete who has entered an In2Adventure event is now able to access one FREE 8 week training program with BandJ Racing and it starts just in time for the first event of the season in Port Stephens at the beginning of September.  The basic program covers all the events we love and is available for Trail Running, Cross Triathlon and Mountain Biking.

Ben and Jacqui are World Class Professional Triathletes with over a decade of racing experience specialising in Off-Road Triathlon, and competing in over 30 different countries around the world.

In all their coaching, Ben and Jacqui lead by example. They have taken the best from their coaching over a highly successful career and combined this into their coaching methods. The most important aspect of their coaching philosophy is work/life balance, a happy athlete is a motivated athlete therefore an improving athlete. Communication is key and the best part of their job is the strong relationship they have with their athletes.

BandJ Racing offer a range of triathlon, cross triathlon, trail running, open water swimming and mountain bike coaching services for all abilities of athletes from professional to novice. They coach athletes all around the world and pride themselves on ensuring that all of their athletes are treated as individuals offering a tailored environment and structure to enable them to achieve their personal goals.

In2Adventure are so excited to be working with these two amazing athletes, not just because they offer exemplary coaching services, but most importantly because of the type of athletes and people that they are.  They embrace the In2Adventure racing philosophy and are exemplary role models for all athletes, especially our up and coming champions of tomorrow.
