Cuthbert Invincible, and Ivory Reigns Supreme in the Snowy Mountains
Zoe Cuthbert and Cameron Ivory are the respective Queen and King of the Snowy Mountains Mountain Bike Festival for 2020.
Cuthbert took out the sixth and final stage, across a 45km marathon course in wet and difficult conditions.
The 18 year-old won all six stages of the Festival, in one of the most dominant performances we have ever seen.
Cuthbert won Stage 6 in a time of 2:16:27, 4-minutes and 22-seconds ahead of Cristy Henderson (2:20:49). Meaghan Stanton came third in a time of 2:31:05.
Zoe Cuthbert was crowned race winner after a total race time- across the six stages- of 6:26:58.6. This was a nearly 10-minute lead ahead of Henderson, with 6:36:14.1. Stanton- who has re-emerged as an Elite level competitor- completed the weekend in an impressive 7:02:12.5.
Meantime, it was Cameron Ivory who won the Men’s marathon Stage 6, in a time of 2:02:08. A mere 9-seconds behind in second-place was the injured Dean Cane. Cane, despite the leg and hand injuries that kept him out of Stages 3 and 4, was able to complete the marathon in 2:02:17. Callum Carson was a further 3-minutes and 6-seconds behind, in a time of 2:05:23.
Ivory, who won five out of six stages, to win the Festival with a total time of 5:35:30:4. Carson, who won Stage 2, and had four other podium finishes came second in a time of 5:45:57.8 Andrew Blair was consistent across the weekend and finished third, with a total time of 5:49:11.5
