Snowies MTB Festival Returns in 2026 - Ride Australia's High Country Like Never Before

Snowy Mountains, NSW – The Snowies MTB Festival will return from 19–21 February 2026, cementing its reputation as one of Australia’s most iconic multi-stage mountain bike events.

Hosted at the 4.5-star Oaks Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa, the festival delivers the perfect balance of luxury and action. Riders and supporters alike will enjoy premium accommodation and world-class facilities, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Australia’s high country.

A standout highlight is the exclusive opportunity to ride the full length of the renowned Thredbo Valley Track from Thredbo to Jindabyne on closed trails. Stage 3 – the Snowies Legends Descent – is the only time each year you can experience, uninterrupted, the pure exhilaration of 42km of mountain bike heaven from top to bottom.

But the Thredbo Valley Track is just the beginning. Across three action-packed days, the Snowies MTB Festival serves up a diverse mix of stages designed to challenge and inspire everyone from elite athletes to passionate weekend warriors.

A STAGE RACE... WITH EPIC RIDING... BUT WITHOUT THE ENDLESS TRAVEL.

Another thing that sets the Snowies apart is convenience. Every stage takes place within an 18km radius, meaning no long drives between rides. For stages away from the resort, a dedicated bus will whisk you and your bike to the start line in just 10 minutes. All that’s left for you, your family, and your mates is to sit back, soak up the festival atmosphere, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

NEW FOR 2026 – PAIRS CATEGORY 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

The festival just got even better with the launch of the Pairs Category! This exciting new format is all about teamwork, grit, and good times as you and your mate ride the trails side by side. Unlike the Relay Team format – where only one rider is on the course at a time – Pairs means you’re in it together from start to finish. Think of it as having your own wingman (or wingwoman!) pushing you on every climb, cheering you down every descent, and sharing every unforgettable Snowies moment.

Entries open on Wednesday 1 October 2025 with a massive one-day-only 50% discount on stage race entries. Riders are urged to be quick to secure their spot at one of Australia’s most anticipated MTB festivals.
